Part of what makes a Ford vehicle so attractive to owners is its sheer strength. It’s built to withstand the elements, dirt roads, and – as this video shows – a lot of punishment.

Ford decided to test their F-150 steel and aluminum alloy beds to see which one would hold up the best when tested. They also got some top athletes to test the durability of the truck bed.

After withstanding blows from a baseball pitcher, hockey player, Olympic shot putter, and golf player, it became clear that, while both held up admirably (considering the speed and heft of the objects) the aluminum alloy was better, withstanding the force with less damage than the steel in some instances.
